Hog’s RB Knile Davis Goes Down with Leg Injury

Bad news out of Fayetteville.

Several sources are reporting that Arkansas’ starting running back, Knile Davis, went down during a scrimmage last night at Razorback Statium.  Davis was said to be carted off with an apparent left leg injury.  The latest reports indicate that Davis has a fractured ankle and will miss the entire 2011 season.

Davis was an absolute beast for Arkansas last year in the running game.  He lead SEC RBs in rushing yards with 1322, and AVG rush yards at 6.5 (min. 100 carries), and also accounted for 14 total TDs.  Coach Petrino and the Razorback faithful were no doubt looking at Davis to be an even bigger part in this year’s offense with the loss of  signal caller Ryan Mallet to the NFL.  If Davis is to miss a substantial amount of time it could prove devastating for the Hogs.  Keep checking back for the latest updates as we will be staying on top of this story.
